About Us.
We are a married couple, both British nationals, with degrees from British universities, in Phil’s case a doctorate in Scandinavian Languages.  Phil retired early in June 2004 as Reader in Scandinavian Studies (Swedish) at The University of Hull. He has been a part-time translator for thirty years, as well as a teacher of Swedish and Danish translation skills and translation theory to university students of the Scandinavian languages. He is also the author of e.g. reference grammars of Swedish and Danish and a beginner’s Swedish book for Routledge, London as well as the only complete literary biography of Vilhelm Moberg for Carlssons Förlag, Stockholm. He speaks Swedish fluently and can therefore discuss Swedish clients’ precise needs.
